As a solo practitioner, consultancy is at the heart of what I do — so much so that I've even formed a company dedicated to it!  I work on a matter-specific or à la carte basis, collaborating seamlessly with other professionals without competing for clients.

My support can start at the earliest stages — from pre-dispute planning, avoidance, and mitigation — and continue through to final resolution if formal proceedings are initiated.  I can provide:

International and Domestic Arbitration

I have experience in all aspects of international and domestic arbitration, including but not limited to:

·       Drafting – clauses, formal submissions, correspondence, etc.

·       Oral advocacy – opening and closing statements, witness and expert examination

·       Hearings – case management meetings; and jurisdictional, procedural and evidentiary hearings

·       Liaising with the institution, opposing counsel, witnesses and experts

·       Advising on tribunal constitution

·       Developing the procedural calendar

·       Selecting and working with factual and expert witnesses

Litigation and Mediation

I have experience in litigating and mediating disputes in the US and Europe.  In addition to the above, my experience in this area of dispute resolution includes: 

·      Supervising foreign matters 

·      Coordinating parallel proceedings

·      US discovery

I serve as sole, presiding or co-arbitrator in international commercial arbitrations in institutional and ad hoc proceedings.  With nearly 20 years of dedicated disputes experience, I approach each case with impartiality, diligence, and a commitment to procedural efficiency and fairness.

As a mediator, I help parties bridge differences and find workable, lasting solutions.  I create a constructive, balanced environment for dialogue, guiding the process while leaving decision-making in the hands of the parties.

My advisory work continues to evolve and has included:

·      Case assessments for potential third-party funders

·      External “sanity checks” on cases and strategies for parties and their counsel

In select cases, I act as tribunal secretary, providing:

·       Assistance with case management and drafting

·       Procedural coordination and adherence to timelines

·       Preparation of tribunal documents*

*For the avoidance of doubt:  the tribunal secretary does not perform decision-making functions - this is the sole role of the tribunal.  I do not act as a “fourth arbitrator.”

Teaching is a long-standing passion.  I design and deliver bespoke workshops and training sessions for individuals and teams, tailored to their specific needs, industries, and dispute resolution challenges.
